The hikers in the park are the people who report on this board. This is not a government sponsored site. If you are a hiker and just made a hike then please help by updating the trail board with your hiking experiences and with the latest hiking conditions at Glacier. You can even upload your own trail pictures.

Every trail featured in the Glacier hiking forum board is colored in on the map below. Blue trails are lower in elevation and snow melts away faster on these trails. Many of the lower elevation trails are generally open by May. Red trails are higher elevation trails which can be clogged with snow well into July. To see the details of any particular trail on the Glacier hiking forum board simply click on the appropriate area in the map.

Siyeh Pass - The Siyeh Pass trail is almost a loop. It starts from the Sun Road and winds 10 miles back around to a different spot on the Sun Road. You can either hitchhike back up the road or hike the stretch on foot. Along the way then there are lots of wildflowers and small lakes. The two passes on this trail take a long time to melt free of snow. You will great views into the Boulder Creek Valley. This valley offers terrain that is a little different any other part of the park. Also experienced climbers can easily scramble up the east slopes of the ridge near Siyeh Peak. From the ridge top then you get the best view of turquoise colored Cracker Lake.

I love this hike. Although long, it is well worth the views. Sexton Glacier is beautiful. Can be very windy on top.
