The hikers in the park are the people who report on this board. This is not a government sponsored site. If you are a hiker and just made a hike then please help by updating the trail board with your hiking experiences and with the latest hiking conditions at Glacier. You can even upload your own trail pictures.

Every trail featured in the Glacier hiking forum board is colored in on the map below. Blue trails are lower in elevation and snow melts away faster on these trails. Many of the lower elevation trails are generally open by May. Red trails are higher elevation trails which can be clogged with snow well into July. To see the details of any particular trail on the Glacier hiking forum board simply click on the appropriate area in the map.

Triple Divide Pass - Triple Divide Mountain found above Triple Divide Pass is one of the more interesting mountains in the park. Its surfaces feed into 3 different oceans - the Artic to the North, the Pacific to the West, and the Atlantic to the Southeast. The Pass itself is a fun destination with great views and a resident herd of Bighorn Sheep. Grizzlies are sometimes spotted on the slopes above Medicine Grizzly Lake. It is approximately 16 miles to St. Mary or 7 miles to the head of the Cutbank Trail.

Glacier Pictures Did you know?
Glacier National park was named for the glaciers that carved, sculpted, and formed this landscape millions of years ago. Despite the recession of current glaciers, the park's name will not change when the glaciers are gone.
